There are certain common substances to avoid, and while we've tried to summarize the main ones to look out for, it's also useful to learn how to read the product ingredients label. Check out the Environmental Working Group, or to avoid scouring all those labels, perhaps choose a cosmetics company who has signed the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics pact, one who uses certified organic and natural ingredients.
