About the Founders
Cofounders Alison Ferguson & Meaghan Relkie
The company was formed in 2008 by its two cofounders, Alison Ferguson and Meaghan Relkie.
Like many good business ideas, the concept of “Every Little Bit” began with a drink around a table – not beer in this case – but a cup of tea.
Meaghan, who has long been a green-geek, was having difficulty finding environmentally-friendly products for her family without spending an inordinate amount of time on the bus or shopping online from the US.
And mainstream Alison, interested in making a few small eco-changes, was discouraged by the “green-washing” at mainstream stores, and by the sales staff at greener stores as they looked in horror at her synthetic pants and suggested purchasing a bike and pedaling each morning to generate enough power to turn her toaster on.
With an absence of options for a mainstream audience, Every Little Bit emerged. We’re pleased to launch our general purpose on-line green store for Canadian & US customers. We offer eco-friendly products and education, as well as the ability to “one stop shop” for daily needs products. We believe that “every little bit” does indeed count, and if you happen to be one of those who can self-power your own toaster, kudos to you. For the rest of us, perhaps start with locally made bread with whole grains.
| Alison Ferguson President Pale Green with Pink Sparkles Alison provides business planning, marketing and leadership experience to Every Little Bit. She has over 15 years of experience in senior marketing and HR roles at high tech firms and cities in BC. She co-founded OctigaBay Systems in 2000, which was acquired 3 years later for $115M, one of the largest acquisitions of a private high tech start-up in Canada. She’s VP of Soroptimist International of the TriCities, an active volunteer in her community, and happily married with 2 girls under 4. Alison holds an MBA from City University, a BA from SFU, and an HR certificate from BCIT. Alison’s rules to live by

Meaghan Relkie Vice President – Product Strategy Medium Green Meaghan is the green expert at Every Little Bit. She researches and sources all products and companies selected by Every Little Bit, as well as providing overall product direction. A long-established green girl, Meg has over 12 years of lease administration and accounting experience. Past President of Soroptimist International of the TriCities (an international volunteer service organization benefitting women and girls), she is also an avid marathoner and passionate about her family and the environment. Meg holds 2 BA’s from Simon Fraser University. Meg’s rule’s to live by
